The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Video: Sea and Land Conditions - Ponta do Ouro - Tropical Storm Irina 4 March 2012
Cyclone Irina hits Ponta do Ouro in Southern Mozambique! Pouring rain and huge surf expected over the next couple of days and should do some serious damage with Spring Tides this week. No sound on this clip but will include some on the next update- (was too noisy to include). Guy on Jetski chancing his luck but gives you an idea at least of how big the surf really is. - African Rhythm Promotions
