Overberg Disaster Management Services on Sunday said they had no reason to expect heavy rains in the area, which may cause flooding.
Chief Fire Officer Reinard Geldenhys said they however experienced some rain over the weekend.
He said light rain fell overnight.
“We were told we’d received for about 50mm rain and now we’ll just wait and see,” he said.
Geldenhys, however, added they were on high alert for the rest of the weekend.
“We’ve had about 33mm rain overnight, but at the moment we haven’t experienced any problems. We’re on high alert as more rain is forecasted.”
Cape Town has been experiencing heavy rains since Saturday, however there has been no reports of flooding.
