The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected from Wednesday, persisting into Friday over the western parts of the Namaqualand District. WATCHES: -------- 1. Extremely uncomfortable conditions will be experienced in the Namaqualand and West Coast Districts on Thursday, including the Cape Winelands on Friday. 2. A high veld fire danger rating is expected in the Namaqualand and West Coast Districts on Thursday, including the Cape Winelands on Friday.
