Johannesburg - A 4-year-old boy drowned in pool at a residence in Bryanston, north of Johannesburg on Saturday, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said residents found him in the pool and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while some one called paramedics.
"When the paramedics arrived on the scene, they took over from the residents and continued with CPR and Advanced Life Support intervention was performed."
After a long battle to try and save his life the boy was declared dead, Banks said.
It was believed that the child was the grandson of the domestic worker who was visiting her for the weekend.
