A factory worker was seriously injured when he was crushed by a piece of equipment at a warehouse in Alrode, Germiston, this evening.
The cause of the accident and the series of events preceding it remain unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Force investigation.
Common cause information suggests that the man had been operating a piece of equipment which toppled onto him, pinning him against a work table.
Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man in a critical state, having sustained possible spinal trauma. He was treated and stabilised at the scene and transported by ambulance to a private medical facility for further care.
