Netcare911 Paramedics are affecting the rescue of a seriously injured man who is struck on the roof of a building at a sewerage works in Devland, Soweto.
Common cause information suggests that had been on the roof, using a step ladder to climb to an adjacent roof approximately four meters above that level. While climbing, the ladder slipped out from beneath him and he fell nearly three meters onto the roof below.
Medics have climbed onto the structure and have stabilised the man who has sustained multiple injuries.
With the assistance of firefighters and the Netcare911 scene safety and rescue unit, the man will be lowered to a waiting ambulance.
