The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Mist along the West Coast (8 May 2012 15h50 SAST)

Crayfish boats on the West Coast were caught unawares late yesterday afternoon when a thick mist moved in extremely fast all the way up the coast. The above image clearly reflect the mist cloud along the West Coast. (Circled in yellow)
