Die Suid-Afrikaanse Weerdiens (SAWD) sê dit sal nog vandag en môre warm wees, maar die kwik gaan bedags spoedig tot onder die 20°C-kerf begin daal.
“’n mens kon reeds dié week soggens voel dat die koue op pad is,” sê Jan Vermeulen, ’n weervoorspeller by die SAWD.
Gister se minimum temperatuur was 5°C in Johannesburg en 9°C in Pretoria. In ander dele van die land is minimum temperature van tot 2°C aangeteken.
Johannesburg en Pretoria het die laaste ruk maksimum temperature van tot 26°C gehad (en onderskeidelik 22°C en 23°C gister).
Die eerste ware kouefront sal die kusgebiede teen Donderdagaand tref, maar Gautengers sal die koue na verwagting eers teen Saterdag voel.
Maksimum temperature in Gauteng sal dan na verwagting tot onder 20°C daal.
“Ná die kouefront kan almal hul winterklere uitgepak hou, want die koue gaan dan beslis bly,” sê Vermeulen.
’n Normale winterseisoen word verwag met gemiddelde minimum en maksimum temperature wat wissel van -5°C tot 10°C snags en van 20°C tot 25°C bedags.
Minder reën word vanjaar van Junie tot Augustus verwag as in die laaste paar winters.
