The parents of a little boy were waiting in a queue at an establishment in Potchefstroom when the little boy wandered off a few meters away and was playing on the pavement. The four year old then somehow managed undetected to get his little hand into an electricity box near the premises.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene in the CBD of Potchefstroom and found the little boy had suffered extensive burn wounds to his thumb, palm of his hand and forearm. The wound was immediately treated appropriately and the little boy was kept as calm as possible until he was taken through to the Potchefstroom provincial hospital by ambulance.

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
