JOHANNESBURG – Three firefighters are recovering in hospital after part of a building collapsed on them while they were trying to extinguish a blaze in Germiston.
The factory, based in the industrial area, caught fire on Saturday.
Emergency services worked for hours to get the fire under control due to flammable materials inside.
The fire began spreading to other factories, but was successfully doused.
Ekurhuleni emergency service's William Ntladi said the injured firefighters were in stable condition.
