A fire occurred at 02:22 on Monday, 06 August 2012 at Witsand Informal Settlement that destroyed one shack.
The City’s firefighters and paramedics were called to the blaze an arrived within minutes (02:31) at the incident.
One adult female, Mobophini Jeku (39 years) that was living in the shack died that could not escape and was overcome by the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the authorities. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
