The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Image: Flood Observation - St Francis Bay (Eastern Cape)
This gives a good idea of how much rain St Francis Bay has received since May. These lakes are all new features....they were not there before the rains...
Photo was taken by a pilot friend, Paul Frost, after I had asked him to have a look. - Thanks Paul! - Leon Scheepers
