The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Joint Operations Centre (JOC), spearheaded by the institution’s Disaster Management Unit, will be on alert throughout the night after warnings of flash floods were received from the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
Residents are warned to be extremely careful in lower lying areas and requested to avoid driving over low level bridges if the prediction fro
m the SAWS materializes.
Motorists are requested to keep safe following distances and adhere to the rules of the road as treacherous conditions could lead to an increase in accidents.
Power outages
At Walmer, Charlo breaker tripped affecting sections of Walmer, Charlo and Greenshields Park. No timeframe for the restoration of supply is available at this stage.
