Three thousand residents in the Nottingham Road, Cedarville, Gowry and Rainbow Lakes areas have been without electricity for a week after heavy snowfall in the area.
Five transmission lines to KwaZulu-Natal were damaged by the bad weather last Tuesday.
Eskom says it's since managed to get three of the lines running and technicians are working on the remaining two.
The utility's Hillary Joffe says the repairs aren't causing interruptions to the power supply. She says smaller local distribution lines are to blame.
"That's because of faults on the local lines that serve those areas. Access has still been a problem, even though the weather has improved, and our technicians have been doing their best to get to the faults and repair them," she said.
Joffe says they're looking at ways of making the grid more resilient to bad weather.
"The situation could have been worse because the weather really was very severe. But we're certainly looking at our lines - and repairing them."
