More custom GFS charts are available this morning (00Z on Thurs 23rd), which show that the strong winds on Sat 25th will be produced by a combination of the offshore low and the ridging High Pressure moving in behind.
This custom GFS chart shows the likely gale force winds (> 35kts) and pressure gradients at 09Z on Sat 25th. It is unusual to see such strong winds over the interior of the Western Cape, and parts of the Eastern Cape.

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
