Surreal snowlike hail pellets floating on the threatening flood water, a cacophony against the large expanse of factory windows, a touch of excitement that could have turned bad had it continued. In 45 min, it was over.

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
