GEORGE NEWS - The Western Cape's blood supply is under severe pressure.
Yesterday, Tuesday 7 August, there was stock for only two days, a far cry from the ideal five-day stock.
Any person older than 16, weighing more than 50kg, who is in general
good health and leads a safe lifestyle is eligible to donate blood.
Donors must remember to eat a substantial meal within three to four hours before donating.
Members of the public are urged to SMS 'Blood' to 33507 for information on where to donate.
Alternatively they may call 044 874 2074 or visit the website www.wpblood.org.za for further details.
