The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Verskeie beseer nadat frats haelstorm Mosenthal naby Rustenburg tref
Verskeie mense moes in die Mosenthal-gebied naby Rustenburg in die Noordwes na die hospital geeneem word nadat 'n frats haelstorm die gebied getref het. Verskeie huise is beskadig en volgens die SAUK verslaggewer op die toneel is leerders by 'n plaaslike skool beseer, maar is dit nog nie bekend hoeveel kinders deur die storm geraak is nie.
