Hundreds of residents in the south of Durban have been without electricity for nearly 48 hours following a heavy storm earlier this week.
EThekwini Municipality's Deena Govender says 17 pole transformers and spans of overhead cables were brought down during Wednesday evening's storm.
It's affected the power supply to parts of Sunnyside Park, Engonyameni and Elukhanyisweni.
He says however they've since managed to restore supply to Seadoone extension, Kingsburgh and Adams Mission.
Power to the KwaMakutha and Folweni areas is expected to start coming back online between now and 6pm this evening.
Govender says technicians have been deployed to all affected areas and should have supply restored by latest on Sunday.
Govender's re-iterated that affected residents should rather email complaints to custocare@elec.durban.gov.za instead of phoning them through.
