Police have confirmed that the N2 between Jeffreys Bay and Port Elizabeth is open.
Police spokesman, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said the flooding of the N2 was as a result of a dam adjacent to the road that was overflowing and the dam wall had collapsed.
She said the situation is now under control and the freeway is open to traffic.
Janse van Rensburg urged drivers to continue to exercise caution while on the roads due to the severe weather.
