Recent severe weather has devastated several areas in the Eastern Cape and left many destitute. The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro is requesting the help of the public to assist in transporting 6 tons (55 000 meals) of food from the Johannesburg Food Bank to Port Elizabeth. They are especially looking for firms with large trucks that can assist in transporting this relief aid.
A specific need also exist for baby clothing, nappies and plastic buckets. If you can assist or would like further information please phone one of the following numbers.

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
