The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

SAWDOS - Astonishing - No severe weather warnings for this afternoon and evening from the SAWS. This while we experience severe thunderstorms, flooding, large hail and strong wind in many parts of South Africa.
KWAZULU NATAL: Flash flooding reported in parts of Durban. (Bluff) Strong wind and driving rain. This is a large and intense storm. If at all possible stay at home tonight and stay off the roads. Further flooding expected.
EASTERN CAPE: Flooding of roads reported in parts of Port Elizabeth. Two cars reported floating on water. Further flooding expected.
SOUTHERN CAPE: Flooding reported in parts of Sedgefield. Heavy rain falling and further flooding expected.
PILANESBERG: Large hail (Golfball and Tennisball size) observed in Sun City. No reports of damage received as yet.
Storms still active and severe. How come there is no warnings for this afternoon and evening????
