The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Al-Imdaad Foundation helps Sasolberg residents after devastating storm
The Al-Imdaad Foundation provided emergency aid to Sasolberg residents after the area was hit by a violent storm on January 2, 2013.
Heavy rains struck Sasolberg and affected over 1 000 residents. The Al-Imdaad Foundation in partnership with the Sedgars Group and the Metsimaholo Mayor Councillor Brutus Mahlaku, distributed 200 food hampers and 200 blankets to the hardest hit residents on January 4, 2013.
