Here's wishing our matrics all the best with their results. To all South Africans we pray for a blessed, prosperous and successful 2013 where health, happiness, sustenance and spirituality abound. In welcoming the New Year 2013 we find ourselves in a situation where 4000 fellow South Africans have been rendered homeless following a devastating shack fire in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on New Year's day. Most inhabitants have lost everything and their only possessions are the clothes they are wearing. Children are faced with the prospect of going to school with no stationery or school uniforms.
Isn't it appropriate in the spirit of the festive season that humans respond to fellow humans who have lost everything? Isn't that the ultimate message and spirit of the year end celebrations which has to be translated into positive action? Gift of the Givers Cape Town office re-opens to respond to the crisis. Blankets, food parcels, clothing, corrugated sheeting, uniforms, stationery, sanitary pads, disposable nappies and dishes will be provided.
