Heavy falls of rain are possible over the Limpopo and Mpumalanga lowveld tonight. Heavy rain will continue to fall in Limpopo tomorrow
over the northern and north-eastern parts of the province. Up to now 105mm rain in 24 hours was measured in Sabie. Reports have also been received of heavy rain in the Waterberg, White River, Nelspruit and Hazyview areas. Be on the lookout for possible flash flooding and flooding in areas. Do not attempt to cross low level bridges, flooded roads, rivers or ravines.
The above analyses are produced from observations at weather stations around the world, as well as ship and buoy reports at sea, reports from aircraft, radiosonde balloons, and even satellite data. These data are merged after quality control procedures have been applied. Even with all of the data sources, there are still tremendous gaps in coverage over remote areas.
Further details will certainly become clearer in the next 12 hours. So let's keep an eye on the system. Updates to follow.
