All disaster management teams in KwaZulu-Natal are on high alert following warnings of heavy rain here as well as rain and snow in other parts of the country this weekend.
The SA Weather Service has warned that the downpours will hit KZN from late this evening.
There is a 60 to 80 percent chance of showers over the next two days.
KZN Disaster Management's Mthokozisi Duze says teams in all municipalities have been briefed on what to expect.
"We are ready, we have response measures in place and will be able to assist irrespective of wherever rain is experienced in the province. Our plans are in place and we will be able to activate them and support victims should there be any," he said.
