The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

10H00 SAST - Nagenoeg 'n duisend mense is steeds in vloedwater vasgekeer in die Musina-gebied in Limpopo. Onder die vasgekeerdes is sowat 20 Weermaglede wat patrolliewerk by die Beitbrug-grenspos doen. 'n Woordvoerder vir die munisipaliteit, Wilson Dzebu, sĂȘ mense is ook vasgekeer op dakke en in bome. Intussen word dienslewering ontwrig te midde van kragonderbrekings in regeringskantore en winkels op Musina. Volgens berigte is die kragonderbrekings weens skade aan die infrastruktuur. Die verdrinking van vier mense wat deur vloedwater naby die Beitbruggrenspos meegesleur is, is intussen nog nie amptelik deur die owerhede bevestig nie. 'n Vergadering daaroor is tans aan die gang.
