Johannesburg - An ultra-light aircraft crashed near a cemetery in Brackendowns, Alberton on the East Rand on Tuesday, said paramedics.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said the only occupant of the one-seater aircraft, a man in his thirties, was critically injured in the crash.
"He was stabilised on the scene and transported to Netcare Union Hospital," said Steinmann.
Details surrounding the crash were still unclear.
