The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
A crewman was evacuated from the M/V ARCHIMEDES, which is on route from Norway to China. The man who was suspected of suffering from Pericarditis was flown back to the Titan helipad in Cape Town harbour and then transported to hospital.
