A four-year-old boy was revived after falling into a swimming pool in Orange Grove on Thursday, January 26, 2012 Johannesburg emergency management services said.
“The boy was playing with a ball and it fell into the pool and he must have tried to fetch it,” spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said.
A domestic worker had been attending to washing at the other side of the house when it happened.
“Fortunately the right number was called and emergency services arrived quickly. The boy had drowned, but he was saved by emergency services.”
He was taken to a hospital in the area.
The correct medical emergency numbers in Johannesburg are: from a cellphone 112, from a landline 10177.
