The Overberg District Municipality said fresh crews were brought in to help relieve weary firefighters fight a large fire in Swellendam.
The blaze began on Thursday.
Officials said despite hot and windy conditions, they managed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
Overberg Fire Chief Reinard Geldenhuys said, “The fire is not as bad as it was on Friday. We have managed to contain it in a lot of the areas. We want to hit it as hard as we can, that is why we are flying in another two teams this morning.”
