There has been another fatal shack fire in Cape Town.
One person died in a blaze in Asanda Village near Strand in the early hours of Sunday morning.
On Friday night, nearly 200 people were left homeless in a shack fire in Khayelitsha.
Disaster Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says details about the latest blaze are sketchy.
“Two people were left homeless as the result of the fire. Unfortunately, one person died in the blaze. Disaster management teams are on the scene assisting the victims,” he says.
In 2011 fires claimed the lives of at least 130 people across the Cape Peninsula.
