A fire occurred at approximately 23:30 on Tuesday, 14 February 2012, at the Hlazo Informal Settlement, J1060 Miller Road, in Nyanga.
The fire destroyed 13 informal structures resulting in the displacement of 45 people.
All persons have been accounted for – no persons sustained injuries.
The City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre provided humanitarian relief aid in the form of food parcels, clothing, blankets and building material to the fire victims.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and the authorities will probe an investigation.
