The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

SAWDOS now on Facebook!!!
(Click on image for larger view.)
Each year, millions of people post on Facebook to share what's important to them, discuss world events, or just catch up with friends. With more than 800 million people connected around the globe on Facebook, news about the world's triumphs and tragedies spreads fast. The SAWDOS decided to open the SAWDOS Weather Observation Group on Facebook to exchange real time weather observations, images, photos, weather data and general weather related matters.
If you have a Facebook account, you are cordially invited to join the SAWDOS on Facebook.
Tell us on Facebook about the weather in your area. Send us your:
Rainfall figures; weather observations; real time weather observations; photos (anything to do with weather, sunrise, sunset etc.); dam and river levels; fire observations; wave heights; flood images or any strange weather phenomena.
The SAWDOS is looking forward to become your friend on Facebook
