NATIONAL NEWS - A man's arm was severed below the shoulder when it was caught in the rollers of a machine at a factory in Germiston on the East Rand on Monday, said paramedics.
The 32-year-old man was working at the time, said ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson. She said the machine stopped when his arm was caught.
He was alert, but in severe pain when paramedics got to the scene, and was stabilised before being airlifted to the Milpark Hospital, she said.
"The severely damaged arm was removed from the machine and packaged for transportation with the man to hospital," she said.
