A seven-year-old boy is in a serious but stable condition in a Potchefstroom Private Hospital after a near drowning incident in a swimming pool at a residence this afternoon.
The cause of the incident and the series of events leading up to it remain unclear.
Common cause information indicates that the boy had been among a large group gathered for a birthday party. He was immersed in the water for an unknown period of time.
When he was noticed he was pulled from the swimming pool. Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the boy in a serious but stable condition. They took over care and transported him by ambulance to the nearby medical facility for further care.
