Die tropiese storm, Irina saai steeds verwoesting in die noorde van KwaZulu-Natal. Vier mense is deur noodspanne op Hlabisa en Mtubatuba gered ten midde van oorstromings wat deur swaar reën veroorsaak word. 'n Woordvoerder van die departement van Samewerkende regering, Vernon Mchunu sê die mense is uit riviere gered. Hy sê mense moet eerder vermy om riviere oor te steek, omdat strome baie sterk is. Verskeie paaie in Durban is intussen weens die swaar reën gesluit. Inwoners van Sydenham moes uit die gebied verwyder word nadat die Palmiet rivier oor sy oewer gestoot het.
