The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Sunday said it is investigating a fatal Randfontein plane crash which killed two people.
It is believed the Ratpor aircraft was flying low when the pilot collided with power lines at Poortjie on Gauteng’s West Rand on Saturday.
The plane crashed into a shack where two teenagers were sleeping.
They escaped unharmed but the pilot and his female co-pilot were declared dead on the scene.
The CAA's Phindiwe Gwebu said the crash was reported at around 10.30am on Saturday.
She said it appears that the plane’s engine went dead and the pilot was forced to land.
During the landing, the aeroplane hit power lines.
