A man was allegedly on the train tracks near the Witpoortjie Train Station in Roodepoort when a passenger train was coming down the tracks. The reason as to why the man was on the tracks at the time is unknown. The driver stated that the man suddenly appeared and he was not able to stop the train in the short distance.
Paramedics from the area were called to assist, where they found the man having suffered injuries to his head and chest area. The man had already died on the scene due to his injuries as they were severe and extensive. The man who appeared to be around the age of 40, was declared deceased by paramedics.
The accident will be investigated.
