The SAWDOS has been sold!!

It is with a bit of nostalgia and sadness that I must announce that the SAWDOS has been sold.  Yes, the SAWDOS will from today belong to a well known weather service in South Africa. I was approached a while ago by  their attorneys with an offer to sell the SAWDOS "Empire".

As you all might recall I spend some time the past week in the Free State to finalize the deed of sale and other paper work iro the SAWDOS.  The buyer party is based in Guateng and we met in the Free State to conclude the sales agreement.  The selling price will not be made public but I can confirm that it was a substantial amount, something like a golden handshake which I could not refuse.  From discussions it was clear that the SAWDOS is currently one of the best weather and disaster services in the country that has become a thorn in the flesh for this particular weather service.

"We had no alternative but to buy the SAWDOS to ensure that our service execute our strategy/policy in generating commercial revenues from parties and the general public by what ever means possible.   We cannot allow the SAWDOS to "run" the weather show in South Africa.  We have therefore decided to remove the SAWDOS permanently from the weather scene " said the CEO of the Pay as you Go Weather Service in South Africa.

As the Founder of the best weather and disaster observation service in South Africa,  I apologise to the general public but  a deal of this magnitude only comes around once in a lifetime.  I could however not establish whether  the Pay as you Go Weather Service will engage the services of the SAWDOS and the general public, but I really do not care.  With the money secured in my bank they can do as they like.

I will assist with the transfer of all information until 30 April 2012 where after the SAWDOS will become the responsibility of the new owners, the Pay as you Go Weather Service  I ask the public to support the new service as they have supported the SAWDOS in the past.

I am really sorry that the public was sold out. However business is business and money makes the world go round.  Maybe the public can sell their weather observations to the Pay as you Go Weather Service. I am convinced that they will not be interested because this will lead to a substantiate price increase in their Pay as you Go services.  With the current price of petrol, I am convinced that the service will increase their tariffs soon. But who really cares if you got a golden handshake to leave the weather and disaster observation scene in exchange for an exotic island somewhere on this weird planet of us.
