The Department of Water Affairs says even though Western Cape dams are half full ahead of the winter season it is not too concerned.
Dam levels at the province's reservoirs are around 50 percent full.
Normally, the highest rainfall is recorded during June and September.
Western Cape chief director Rashid Khan says, “We are in a better position, should the rain not come through as expected, we will still be in a comfortable position.”
Khan adds dams in the Southern Cape are around 60 to 70 percent full.
“The Southern Cape is a little bit better off because of the rains that we have that side.”
However, residents are urged to save water.
