A motorcyclist was critically injured when he fell from his dirt bike on a gravel track near Doornhoek in Magaliesburg this afternoon.
The cause of the accident and the series of events preceding it remain uncertain and will form the subject of a South African Police Force investigation.
Common cause information suggests that rider lost control of his bike. He veered from the track and pushed through a barbed wire fence and into rocks.
Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man in a critical condition, having sustained multi-system traumatic injuries. He was stabilised by advanced life support paramedics at the scene and airlifted by the Netcare1 Aeromedical Helicopter to the Netcare Milpark Hospital.
