Johannesburg – ‘n Mynwerker het gesterf in ‘n ongeluk by die Rowland-skag van die Lonmin-myn in Brits, Noordwes, het die mynmaatskappy Maandag gesê.
Die man het Vrydag in ‘n ongeluk gesterf en die skag is onmiddellik gesluit, het die uitvoerende hoof, Ian Farmer, gesê.
Dit sal geslote bly tot ‘n ondersoek na die oorsaak van die ongeluk voltooi is.
Farmer het gesê veiligheid is “absoluut” die myn se “nommer een-prioriteit”.
“Namens die hele maatskappy wil ek ons diepste medelye uitspreek aan die familie en vriende van ons kollega wat gesterf het.”
Verdere besonderhede oor die aard van die ongeluk was nie onmiddellik beskikbaar nie.
