A lift technician has died after the lift he was working on fell on top of him.
He had been repairing the lift at a holiday resort in La Mercy just before noon today.
It's believed the faulty lift unexpectedly fell from the fifth floor, crushing the man.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says sadly nothing could be done to save the man's life.
"When we arrived there we found him lying at the bottom of the lift. He had tragically died on impact and paramedics declared him dead on scene.
SAPS has taken over for a full investigation."
