Owen and Carly van Heerden, avid weather observers in the Southern Cape decided to promote the SAWDOS. They started to actively promote the SAWDOS while riding around in their car. These images clearly reflect the advertising boards they made out of their own pocket. Well done to Owen, Carly and Family and thank you very much for your efforts and real time weather observations.
I am convinced that through you efforts more and more people will find out about the SAWDOS. The latest bash of severe weather events clearly illustrate that South Africa need an independent, private weather observation service, like the SAWDOS and we need people to become weather observers in their area.
The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
