The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Image: Free State hound ready for the severe cold being predicted for the Free State this weekend!!
This Free State hound has decided to be prepared for the intense cold being forecast for the province. He indicated that he is definitely not going to get cold with his new south pole jacket. Just look at that wonderful head-gear! Many thanks to Phillip Claasen who send SAWDOS this image via Twitter.
