SA National Severe Weather Warnings: 6 July 2012 16h00 SAST

Eastern Cape Province - No warnings nor advisories in effect
Subject: Very cold and heavy swell and severe thunderstorms
Detail: Valid: 07-07-2012 Warning: 1. Heavy south-westerly swell in excess of 4m is expected to develop between Pletternberg Bay and Port Alfred on Saturday. Watches: 2. Very cold conditions are expected over the north-western high ground on Saturday. 3. Severe thunderstorms are possible in the eastern and central parts of the province.

Free State Province - Watch: Be prepared
Subject: Severe thunderstorms
Detail: Valid 7-07-2012 Watches:  Severe thunderstorms are possible in the Free State on Saturday.

North West Province - Watch: Be prepared
Subject: Severe thunderstorms
Detail: Valid 7-07-2012 Watches:  Severe thunderstorms are possible in the North-West Province on Saturday.

Northern Cape Province - Warning: Take action
Subject: Heavy Swell and Very Cold
Detail: Valid: 07-07-2012 Warning: Heavy south-westerly swell in excess of 4m is expected to along the entire coastline. 2.Very cold conditions are expected over the southern high ground.

Western Cape Province - Warning: Take action
Subject: Heavy Swell, Heavy Rainfall and Very Cold
Detail: Watch: Valid: 06-07-2012. 1. Heavy rainfall ( > 50mm) is expected in places over Cape Peninsula, south and southwestern parts of Cape Winelands District and Overberg District overnight to Saturday. Valid 7-07-2012 Warning: 1.Heavy south-westerly swell in excess of 4m is expected to along the entire coastline. Watch: 2. Very cold conditions are expected over the high ground on Saturday.

- SAWS

SAWDOS -  Once again the weather warnings are confusing and not correct.  The SAWS indicate that there are no warnings nor advisories for the Eastern Cape Province.  In the subject section they show very cold conditions, heavy swell and severe thunderstorms. The question now arise if there is indeed a weather warning out for the Eastern Cape.
