The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

6 people homeless after fire damage backyard dwelling in Delft
A fire occurred at 19:56 on Sunday, 05 August 2012 at 45 Senegal Street, Leiden in Delft.
The fire destroyed a backyard dwelling causing the displacement of six (6) persons. The family was accommodated by family overnight.
The City’s disaster response teams will aid the family with food parcels, clothing, blankets and building material in the morning of Monday, 06 August 2012.
No persons sustained any injuries and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
