The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Man Airlifted After 10m Fall At Church Fete
A man believed to be in his early twenties is in a critical condition after allegedly slipping off a ledge at a climbing wall at a church fete in Potchefstroom and falling about 10m to the ground this morning.
ER24 were called to the scene and found the man on the floor and in a critical condition. He had a suspected head injury, suspected neck and back injuries and a broken leg. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient. AER24 was called to the scene to airlift the patient to Milpark Hospital for rapid medical care.
