With reports filtering in last night that parts of the CBD had flooded, as well as the Bell Spruit Bridge, it is clear that the town's storm-water drainage system has once again failed.
The river is running high and the water pouring into town from continuous rainfall over the past two days has had nowhere to go.
Parts of Lyell Street are half a metre underwater.
Trucks making their way through the water created huge waves, spreading the water even further up side streets.
